Department of Emergency Medicine is responsible for treatment of emergency accidentalpatients to be survived from life-threatening health conditions with fast, accurate, safe and quality based on professional standards. The scopes of service include providing service of emergency accidental patients with all emergency cases (Emergency department) and servicesof EMS ambulances (Prehospital care) for 24 hours, to be a center of transferring emergency patients from community hospitals in Chiang Rai and the network to the various wards, to be an organization which lead of planning for the disaster responding model of hospitals (Disaster management), and providing academic services to community and a training center of emergency medical personnel (Emergency medical education).
Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital serves Emergency Ambulance Unit for 24 hours, and can provide treatment for accidental victims with well and modern equipment with a team of doctors and specialized staff for initial treatment at the scene for 24 hours.
In addition, Department of Emergency Medicine also serves observationroom, injections, dressings and sutures with 10 observation beds for observation the patients with mild clinical symptoms in order to reevaluate the symptom within 24 hours, and caninsert the bed in case of theBlood Transfusionfor 24 hours, as well as providing injection with non-chemotherapy treatment and vaccines, wound care and uncomplicated sutures for outpatients.

Rub Arun (Morning) Clinic, General overtime clinic and Specific clinic and Premium clinic of Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital are outpatient examination rooms that provide special services to outpatients in both office hours and overtime in every morning and every evening. Provider about cardiovascular catheterization every day during office hours, and provide services to patients who need emergency cardiovascular catheterization for 24 hours.

Thai traditional medicine combined with modern medicine clinics (parallel OPD) are provided at the Primary Care Unit(PCU) according to policy of the Department for Development of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine Ministry of Public Health, to support the integration of Thai traditional medicine and herbal to comprehensive health services system by the integration Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine combined with modern medicine (parallel OPD) of each 50%.Physician of the Thai traditional medicine diagnoses and prescripts based on Thai traditional medicine in order to theclient understand clearly and access easier to Thai traditional medicine, and encourage Thai traditional medicine to be applied with the modern medicine appropriately.The working group provides Thai traditional medicine parallel at the PCU,Community health centers, Thai traditional medical clinicbuilding during 08:00 - 12:00, and at modern medical examination room during 13:00 - 16:00, by receiving supporting budget from the Thai Tradition medical Knowledge Fund by total amount of 110,000 baht (one hundred ten thousands baht). It opened since 13rdAugust 2014. In the initial period, there were a small number of patients, and there were no the patients in afternoon that it was opened a parallel with modern medicine examination rooms. So it was opened only morning time, and the average client were 3 person per day during the service days of 35 days (at 30thSeptember 2014).

Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital serves the renal replacement therapy for patients with chronic renal failure and acute renal failure by 3 units consist of Dialysis room No.1, Dialysis room No.2 and Peritoneal dialysis room.
Dialysis room No.1 serves Hemodialysis or Plasmapheresis for patients who need the treatment method and admission in the hospital. There are a total of 6 dialysis machines to serve daily 8:00 - 16:00, except public holidays, and for Hemodialysis or Plasmapheresis in emergency cases any time.

Dialysis room No.2 services to patients in Chiang Rai province and the neighboring provinces as outpatient. There are 28 Dialysis machines to serve daily 3 times as follows.

Peritoneal dialysis room provides diagnosis, treatment and advice to patients with chronic renal failure which has received the renal replacement therapy with peritoneal dialysis on Monday – Friday, 8:00 - 16:00, except public holidays, and provides telephone counseling to patients with chronic renal failure which has received the renal replacement therapy with peritoneal dialysis for 24 hours.

Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital has started serving a kidney transplant for the first case since 12ndAugust 2016. In initial period, the kidney transplant has performed from a living donor to a patient with chronic renal failure required renal replacement therapy according to the rules of the Thai Red Cross Society and the Thai Transplantation Society. The service has been certified by the Thai Red Cross Society and has been performed by a team of medical experts from the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University with a team of doctors of Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital.
